Labeling Your Newborn's Cues

We want to try to comment on your child’s actions and reactions to what is happening around them. For example, when they are crying it is great to say “I know that you are feeling sad and crying and I am so sorry.” Also try to look at things that you are talking about (pointing to pictures) or track where the baby is looking and name it for them (“I see you looking at the light, it is very bright!”) Remember to also look for signs that your baby is tired or overstimulated – they need lots of rest.
